Whataburger Drone Drops

While other QSRs are probably most known for their cheeseburgers, Whataburger’s iconic Whataburger is better known as a hamburger. Thus, it was important that Whataburger receive the attention it deserved on May 28, 2015 – better known as National Hamburger Day. We knew we would need to do something big to breakthrough the clutter of all the other National Hamburger Day posts that other QSRs would put out there to celebrate the day.

Amazon had already put drone delivery on the map and Whataburger fans have been adamant about the desire for a delivery service. With that in mind, we got to work teaming up with Austin-based DroneTex to develop a mechanism that would be able to carry and release a Whataburger bag. After weeks of testing, we put our efforts to the test doing drone deliveries at the popular Zilker Park in Austin TX.
